These beans originate from Ethiopia which is widely regarded as the birthplace of coffee, more specifically the town Kaffa from which coffee derives it's name. Whilst other countries such as Sudan and Yemen dispute this most people regard Ethiopia as the birthplace of coffee. Coffee contributes substantially to Ethiopia's GDP, making up around 28% of the county's yearly exports which means that approximately 15 million people depend on coffee production in Ethiopia.
Your Ethiopian Limu beans are from the Southcentral region of Ethiopia. They have been wet processed, also known as washed. The farmer uses this process to remove all of the sticky flesh from the coffee seed before it is dried. This helps reduce the chance of anything negatively affecting the bean during the drying process.
