Brewing
Our favourite method of brewing this bean is with a french press.
Grind Size - Coarse (A similar size to sea salt). Roughly 5-10 seconds in a blade grinder or a low setting on your burr grinder.
Coffee v Water - This is dependent on how strong you like your coffee, so will come with experimentation. I would recommend starting with 20g of coffee (4 tablespoons) and 300g of water, a ratio of 1:15.
Process:
- Add the ground coffee beans then half of the water into the French press
- Set a timer for 2.5 minutes
- Stir the coffee and add the remainder of the water
- Put the lid on the French press but do not push down the plunger
- Set a timer for 2.5 minutes
- Finally push the plunger down, pour into a mug, and enjoy.

Flavours
A good Brazil coffee that has a relatively low acidity, and exhibits a chocolatey and nutty sweet flavour.
If you have tried our Brazilian Red Catuai coffee bean then it is a similar taste but more sweet and less acidic. The Brazilian Santos is very versatile and brews well across the board from a French Press to an espresso machine.
Varietal
Bourbon / Catura
The Perfect Dessert Coffee
The chocolatey and nutty taste of this coffee pairs very well in the Itallian dessert, Affogato. 2 scoops of very cold ice cream, 1 espresso shot of Brazil Santos RFA, with a garnish of sliced almonds.
Roast Date & Enjoy by Date
Our 'Enjoy by' date is clearly stamped on our label. This is the date that we recommend you consume your coffee by and is always 3 months after the Roast date. When storing coffee keep it out of direct sunlight and either in the pouch that we supply or in an airtight container with a degassing valve.
Our Roast date is stamped on our packaging underneath the label. If this date has rubbed off during transit, simply subtract 3 months from your 'Enjoy by' date. Our coffee is always freshly roasted to order.
Certification
These beans are Rainforest Alliance Certified which shows that the farm has been audited to meet environmental, social, and economic sustainability standards.

Packaging and Used Coffee Grounds
Our packing is fully recyclable and can be placed in the recycling bin at home. Our pouches can be re-granulated and used in extruding new plastic pouches which eliminates the need for any new raw materials.
Coffee grounds contain a good amount of the essential nutrient nitrogen as well as some potassium and phosphorus, plus other micronutrients. To use dry coffee grounds as a fertiliser sprinkle them thinly onto your soil, or add them to your compost heap.
